Current water level is 705.09 and water surface temp is 82 degrees

Have not posted a report the last couple of weeks because patterns have not really changed until this week. With the water dropping below normal pool the crappie patterns on the lower lake in the Sterett Creek Area have changed a lot. The crappie have scattered and several patterns are working.

With the lower water, several trees on the flats that have not been visible all summer are now just out of the water. These have had no pressure and are good dipping minnows down 8 to 12 feet deep. There are a lot of crappie also out roaming the water just where the flats drop off into 14 to 20 feet of water feeding on the new hatch fry. Minnows fished just 2 feet off the bottom and either drifting or slowwwww trolling will catch these crappie. I have seen several anglers trolling flicker shads or bandits in these same areas producing good crappie. These roaming fish are easy to find just watch your graph for large quantities of bait fish near the bottom. The crappie will be mixed in them. Also the brush piles are still holding some fish in 10 to 15 feet of water. So pick the pattern that you enjoy most and have some fun.

Bass are still best on main lake channel points with 10 inch worms or jig and pig in 6 to 12 feet of water.

Whites and hybrids have been good near the dam on spoons and sassy shads fished down 10 to 20 feet deep when they are running water. The fish have been suspended for the most part so you need to count down to the proper depth.

Catfish remain good on cut shad on the flats in 8 to 12 feet of water with a lot of slot fish and unders being taken.

Weather looks good the next week or so it would be a great time to come down to Sterett Creek and get in on the action.
