Fishing Notes |

Well it almost felt like spring today even though we had to deal with ice on the Osage. Friends from St. Joseph Mike McDaniel and Mike Lawrence got in on some winter action. Caught fish in 14 to 22 feet of water with several bigger ones suspended under schools of shad. It is odd with hundreds of shad above them they will still take a jig. Mike and Mike caught there’s on 1/32 blue/white jig with chartreuse or pink head. Over half of their limit was caught with a minnow added. I also had the most luck on a 1/32 chartreuse and red jig with white head. These things are loaded with shad. They both used 10 lb. test line while I use 8. Fun day for sure. |
