Fishing Notes |

Fishing was a little slower today than yesterday, but we still managed a good mess of crappie! Weather has just been great and easy to tolerate for this old man.
Our fish came in 25 to 40 ft of water and they were sitting roughly 20 feet down off of bluff channel bends. Been hearing quite a few other guys doing the same thing down in this area in the last 5 days. If you don’t find them along the bluff just keep moving to the bluff end and you should find the big schools stacked up there.
As far as bait goes, we fished a pink, 1/4 oz Bob Bates short shank winter specialty jig. Should be able to order those off his website. We tipped that with a red and chartreuse swarm jig, 2 inches long. They really ate it up when they hit it. Good thump on the bite.
Focused our efforts in the lower end of the Grand just below the Mile Long Bridge. Lots of bluffs to choose from down from there on towards the dam. Just apply that pattern and you should see your graphs light up on your boat.
