Current water level is 704.348 still 2 feet low and water surface temp is 51 degrees.

The recent colder temps have changed fishing patterns. Fish have for the most part moved to winter patterns. Whether the warmer temps in the week ahead will bring them back shallow is anyone’s guess.

As of now crappie are holding on bluffs in anywhere from 18 to 23 feet of water just a foot or two off the bottom on bare rock bluffs. A 1/4 ounce pink Bob Bates winter jighead rigged with Swarm Jigs in either char and white, or brown and orange have been working best. Drop the jig to the bottom and bring it up 1 to 2 feet and parallel the bluff SLOOOOOWWWW. There are a ton of smaller fish but limits of 10 to 13 inch fish coming in. The crappie are the best bite right now!!!!!

Bass have been very slow the last couple of days with suspending jerkbaits in shad colors the only thing anyone has had any success with. Secondary points have been best.

Blue cats are still good in 25 to 30 feet of water on cut shad. Several unders , a lot of slot fish , and a few overs are coming in.

The whites and hybrids have moved off the banks for the most part and spoons fished on the humps in 10 to 14 feet of water have produced. Best spoon has been a 1/2 or 3/4 ounce Bob Bates jigging spoon barely jigged off the bottom. Whether the warm weather this week will bring them back shallow I do not know.

Well that’s it for this week hope to see ya on the water!!!!!!
