Steve Blake’s weekly updates on multi-species
Monday, March 8, 2021
See the latest multi-species Steve Blake fishing report as he talks crappie, bass, catfish, walleye and more on Truman Lake!
Current water level is 706.31 surface temps range from 40 to 46 degrees depending on location.
Crappie bite has been very good this week. Finding fish on brush piles that are in 15 to 25 feet of water fish have been suspended over piles at 10 to 15 feet down. Best bait has been the Bob Bates 1/4 ounce pink short shank jig head rigged with a pink and char Swarm Jig body. These are available at Cody’s. Dead-sticking has produced the most bites. You will weed thru a lot of little fish but the good fish are mixed in. We had two one hundred fish days this week.
Bass bite on shad pattern or clown suspending jerkbaits has been fair. Look for them on the steeper main lake and secondary points.
Cats have been very good this week on shad fished in 10 to 25 feet of water.
Have seen a few walleye coming from below the dam but not real good yet. Should come on any time now.
For those of you coming down next week for spoonbill Sterett Creek Motel will open March 12 this year.
The guys worked hard all winter making improvements to the motel, marina, and campground. Ken and Cathy are doing all they can to make your time at Sterett Creek more enjoyable.
See ya on the water!
