See the latest truman Lake weekly fishing report from guide Steve Blake covering, crappie, white bass/hybrids, largemouth, and catfish!
Current lake level is 707.27 water surface temp is 67 degrees.
Well seems like we are going to have a rain all this week so lake level will definitely rise. That is not all bad news. It means there will be an extended period that they will run water at the dam to bring the lake back to normal pool at 706. Anyone who fishes Truman knows that fishing is always better with current. Crappie seem to be pretty much done spawning. On the lower lake near Sterett Creek we are finding crappie in 8 to 15 feet of water on flats in brush piles or fence rows with minnows a foot off the bottom. Size has been very good with fish in the 11 to 13 inch range.
White bass and hybrids have been on the humps and the weir at 12 to 19 feet with jigging spoons or sassy shads. That action has been fast and furious once you locate the fish.
Largemouth have been really good on top-water pop r’s or buzz baits with all the cloudy weather. Main lake points have been best.
Blue cats have been best at the dam in 15 to 20 feet of water on bluegill or cut shad. Some really big cats coming in with several overs.
After a week of rain everyone will be wanting to hit the lake this weekend, and as I said with the dam running water it should be great fishing. That’s it for this week. See ya at Sterett Creek Marina!
