Crappie fishing has improved as they have moved to the flats to feed on the shad. Had nice limits last week in 14-25 feet of water fishing 10-11 feet down with minnows. A few Whites and Drum seem to find their way into that area also along with some nice catfish. I did fish some timber areas with mild success also using minnows at the same depth. Accidently picked up a couple of nice Walleyes also.
With the lake falling, the Whites and Hybrids should be at or near the normal shallow humps and early and late surface action has been common. Topwater Super Spooks, Pop-Rs and spoons have been the lures of choice.
It seems I may have confused some people when I put in my Saturday and Sunday schedule. I am fishing 7 days a week but due to the high volume of boat traffic on Saturdays and Sundays I am only doing morning only trips. After Labor Day, I will return to all day trips on those two days.
That’s about it for July 12, 2021. Help the other guy when you can and remember your life jacket works best when it’s worn. Bob
