Truman Lake Fishing Report May 18, 2022 from Guide Ethan Decker
Lake Level 716.50
Water Temp 68 – 72 degrees
Crappie: Good
The fish are everywhere, brush piles, trees, open water, bushes. Lots of fish on brush piles in 15′ to 20′ of water. Jigs and minnows, no specific color, the bite was aggressive.
Bass: Great
Buzz baits, jigs, plastics, jerk bait, the bite is good. The lake is high and some fish are fairly shallow. Flooded bushes produced a great day bass fishing go to the back of the creeks and work your way out. Topwater in the morning. The clearer water is better.
Catfish – Good
Catfish are good, ledges, main lake flats, and structure, something to break the current. Found fish at 2′ to 10′.
Hybrids – Great
We fished brush piles in the main lake on the 16th and caught several hybrids on minnows while fishing for crappie. We found large schools feeding on shad in 15′ to 24′ of water. White shad 3.5″ works well.
